Project 204 is AquaMatt’s editorial and educational initiative dedicated to sharing accessible stories about Southern Africa’s sharks, rays and chimaeras.
Through photography, video, field observations and collaboration, the project aims to build understanding, curiosity and respect for these species and the environments they depend on.
How Project 204 Began
What started as a personal quest to document the diversity of Southern Africa’s sharks evolved into a long-term storytelling mission. Project 204 was born from a realization that many distinctive and lesser-known species remained largely absent from public awareness, hidden beneath the surface of the coastal shelf.
